Blackness is a global concept but depending on where you are, it can mean and look like so many different things. These photos explore expressions of blackness through young adults coming from different areas of the world but all currently residing in Claremont, California. These young adults are dealing with the struggles of college rigor in addition to finding ways to express their culture and blackness in predominantly white spaces. These photos were taken where all of the subjects felt their most powerful and connected with themselves. - 2019
